Life is tough, but it is a rewarding journey filled with ups and downs. In college, many of us feel reserved from being our true self, as someone who has struggled with this most of his life. I understand how challenging this can be at times, but one thing is even though we may come from different backgrounds we all want to be accepted.

If you are someone who is struggling in college, and do not know what to do. I want to express to you the first step is to accept whatever it is that it is not working. For myself I have a learning disability that interferes with me being able to sit still. Because of my understanding of ADHD and ADD, it is clear what I needed to do.

For myself, my legs constantly shake. If you are trying to better yourself and you also have a learning disability, first describe to yourself what your learning technique is. How are you impacted by this, and how do you learn best? If you are unsure, look towards the academic center, to better understand yourself. It is ok if you do not know yourself, but understand that this does not hinder your growth. 

We all have strengths, it is important to understand what they are to grow. For myself, I understand that I sometimes take longer to accomplish tasks, but I can still achieve anything I put my mind to, as can you! When it comes to finding people you connect with, understand what you are trying to achieve. Not everyone is going to be your friend and that is for a reason. Also, your online presence speaks volumes to individuals who have high standards and aspirations. If you have inappropriate content online, some people will not want to be part of your circle as they would be associated with it. The appearance you push off to others, can benefit you or bring you down. If you are trying to meet others in class or outside of class on the campus quad you should know a few answers to questions right off the bat. From who you are, what you enjoy doing for fun, and what are some things you do not like.
